Hello all,
4th post in here, read this forum all the time, its a wealth of knowledge so I basically havent had to post to ask questions as most of the time a search answers anything I need to know
Anyway onto my question, I'm looking to do the front rotors on my VY ss, called up super cheap and got a good price on some DBA slotted 4000 series, I was pretty stoked about the price but then called up the bearing place and ran into a problem with the hub assembly, $250 per side... SHOCK!! It was hard enough getting the mrs to let me get new rotors after I just splashed out on my VDO pod gauges last week.
Anyway my question is, do i have to replace the hub assembly if I'm doing the rotors, can I just use the old hub assembly that is currently on the car. My thinking is; if I was to get the rotor's machined I wouldn't be replacing the hub assembly so do i have to if replacing the rotors.
If I dont, i would make this a priority in a month or so (once the mrs calms down with the money I've been splashing out on my baby) but for now I'll just leave the old hub assembly until I have enough space between spends to deal with the wrath of the mrs again.
Any advice is much appreciated![]()
So looks like I dont need to do the hub assemble after all, just the rotors for now, the bearings are fine so I'll do that down the track if they need it.
VY are sealed hubs on the front. You only do them when they fail.
Don't forget the loctite on the caliper mount bolts![]()
