hey guys,
was playin with the VY the other day and noticed a sound comin from the manifold once the ignition is turned off, sounds like a ticking noise, lasts for about 3-5 seconds
any ideas?
thanks in advance for your help
are you sure it's from the manifold? There shouldn't be anything moving in the engine 3-5 seconds after it's turned off.
My car makes a ticking/squeeking noise for 3-5 seconds after i turn it off - but I think it's the radiator fan. There's no odd noises when the car is running so i haven't really looked into it.
this would be expansion/contraction noises coming from the steel when steel heats up it expands and when i cools it contracts and makes a ticking noise (like a house with an iron roof in summer) i know my z does the same this i just thought this was the case also could be the thermo fan as old mate said
okay cool thanks guys, i didnt think much of it as it's been there a while and not distinct while the cars running
hey guys, just established that it does it without actually starting the car, so it's not the fan, thinking it's still intake
probably the IAC on the throttlebody moving to its preset positions for key off and on
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
Danger to the manifold!!!111
is there any way to remove the noise?
what sort of damage can it cause taztassio?
might just be the idle air control valve sticking?
It is the IAC valve resetting , nothing wrong , thats a normal function on engine shut down.
awesome thanks guys ;-D
