Hey JC members, im fairly new to the site, i have done alot of reading but no posting as of now,
i just have a couple questions, i drive a 2003 vy one tonner, and was thinking of doing some paint to the tray (aluminium), and bar that runs above the cab, anybody got any details on what paint i should use and what preperation is needed, or if its even possible to paint.
also wanted to hear any advice on a gas conversion, my car is 6 cylinder, dont know about motor guessing Ls1 have no idea though
thanks alot
looking forward to getting more involved on this site
HAHAHA. well first off. it wouldnt be an ls1 because an ls1 is a v8. It is an ecotec, and yes u can convert them to gas. go to a gas conversion join n get a quote, best system to get for a vy would be an impco. as for painting the tray, it would be one C**T of a job, you would have to give it a few coats of primer and then a few coats of paint and clear coat. to be honest i think it would look like crap painted, but to each his own. Go get a quote from a panel beater or body shop because i think you will struggle if you dont know how to paint properly.
thanks for the advice, i wasnt thinking of painting the tray panels themselves just the sides and the top bar, only if it was do able. i have had a quote for the gas injection system, wont be till xmas for the gas, gotta get new tyres and they arnt cheap![]()
