    Default auto shifting

hey all, now i was driving while very angry about a week ago and had put the auto into 2nd by the selector. now when i got onto the highway it revved out and manged just a little
i was under the impression that it would change to 3rd in the VY's like an anti abuse thing.

now when i got it my dad talked to the previous owner and he had said there was something done to the auto but dad didn't pay enough attention as i have been thinkin of getting a shift kit installed to harden up the shifts but after this has happened and being under the impression that they would auto change up if manging, mite it already have a stage 2 in it?

if so how would one find out if there is or not???

    cheers

Unless you drop below the downshift speed, If you leave it locked into 2nd it stays in 2nd.
Same with 3rd, it will hit the limit in 3rd as well.
Lock it in 1st and it will change into 2nd at the shift point... 5500rpm
Thats how the stock auto works.

Don't quote me on that part, Im not sure if it has a limiter but I've hit whatever it has before and backed off immediately when it started to splutter, so I don't know.

You should know if it has a shift kit as with light acceleration it will hold the gears and when it changes at lower revs it will be a lot harder. Drive another VY and see the difference. Just ring the guy you got it off and ask what he did to it. Would be good to know anyway.

Simple, cheap and extremely effective solution to your problem. Grab the gear stick with your left hand, and move it the f**k up into gear.
