just looking at getting a vy v8 the only thing i dont really no is what fule economy they get can you guys give me some of your stats![]()
If you care about fuel economy... you shouldn't be gettin a V8!![]()
around the same mark as a 6 with a full tune, but yeah they'll get thristy the emore you put the right foot down
Chev badges are an instant fail
14.5 - 15.5L/100km doing about a 30/70% mix of highway/city respectively - avg speed about 38km/h, giving it a fair bit of poke, untuned.
Hoping to drop a litre or two with a tune![]()

Jam out with your clam out!
hahah, just somthing i had no idear about coz i here people where i work say that they get better fule economy then the 6's with there v8's but sounds like there just Tiprats that dont no crap![]()
neppirt, depends on what sort of driving you do. If you do city driving, then look to a smaller engine with not as much power. If your doing towing or a lot of higher speed driving, then the bigger engines are better. That's general rule of thumb.
But yea, if you want fuel economy for normal driving throw a supercharger on top! :P

agreed above, full tune on the adventra is giving me between 12-13/100 combined driving (combination of nailing it and highway)
On the open road eg. driving Sydney - Brisbane with 100-110kmh on cruise control I get 9-10 litres/100kmh fuel consumption. Around town it's about 15-16.
well their you have it!! who needs a six??
100% city 14~15..
100% hwy 8.9~9.2...
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

On my VY II R8 285KW Clubby, 6 Spd Manual (factory) 3.7 Diff , I can get down to 6.8 - 7.0 L/100 km sitting on constant 100km/H or even at 110Km/H over long trips. I went from Sunbury to Phillip Island (150 Km or so) the other week and I averaged 8.2L/100 but that included some road works and 80-km/H spots with traffic.
"Usually" the car sits at between 11.6 and 13.8 Avg L/100Km/H over a full tank of juice as a rule.
When you give it to it though I have seen my avg L/100km around the 23 mark...which gets a bit pricy running 98 Octane.
Cheers

Got my VXII 255kw and on the highway got it down to 9.5ltrs/100ks untuned. my mrs 6 does about the same so yer getting a gen 3 is a BETTER idea than say a super six IMO.
Alien...IMO only, not fact.
...good to see some awesome figures from them though
