Hey,
This seems to be a common problem here I think. I just had it serviced, 6 days ago, but won't start. Had this problem about 3 weeks ago. Turn the ignition and engine won't start. Getting this funny noise though, like a drtdrtdrtdrtdrt sound. All the lights flash up, but nothing. It wouldn't have been the dust storm yesterday would it (perhaps showing ignorance about both cars and the power of dust)?
Is it the battery do you think oh smart people who know more about cars than I do? I really know nothing, just bought a commodore because I love love love them.
Thank you (will be calling Ultratune first thing tomorrow to express my dismay).
Ali.
Sounds like your battery mate.
If its like a fast ticky sound when cranking then its the battery.
Basically there is not enough power in the battery to crank the engine.
Usually a battery will last around 5 Years give or take a year.
Oztech007,
Thank you so much, I'll have it checked out tomorrow.
Take it easy.
Could be your battery terminals have picked up a pile of dust causing one of them to be contaminated & not getting a good connection any more , take them both off & give the battery posts & terminals a good clean . Make sure you know your radio code as it will need to be reentered after disconnecting the battery.
i didn't need the radio pin after replacing my battery. i was concerned but it didn't require it. just had to reset the clock. even the presets were retained.
provided its the cd player that the car left the factory with, you don't need the code.
had them same problem in mine... turns out it was the battery
