i have a 2004 VY series 2 executive, pretty standard other than SSL springs and 17" SS rims.
looking to add a sports exhaust but not sure what will give me the best benefits, im open to anything... im one of those knobs that just wants it to sound better not too fussed on performance - also if you could give me some price varieties dont want to pay much more than 500

hey bud
if your willing to spend a little more, say around 800-850, you can pick up a sweet exhaust.
i got mine done only a week or 2 ago on my vy s and thats how much i spent. it was definately worth it, it sounds awesome!
I got pacemaker headers, through to the original cat, then 2 3/4 redback piping (including mufflers) through to the tip. You wont regret it man. check out some videos of this system on you tube and see for yourself!
cheers mate
It would have been a 2 1/2" system, no one makes a 2 3/4" for a Commodore.
But as said above, extractors and a system will definitely improve the sound and drivability, although it won't gain much power.
Just bought a Cat back exhaust off eBay for $175(+$34) for my VY S. Its cheap because it only has 1 muffler (center) and because it's eBay
Im very happy with it. Sounds great and barely makes noise when your foot is off the pedal.
LOL 2.75" ftw?
id rather have it done proffesionally, not too keen on going the whole way with extractors too looking for a decent solution none the less maybe i am best to head down and speak to the mechanic first?
any ideas so i dont sound like an idiot and get ripped off
I don't know jack about exhausts but used eBay to buy and a mate to install...took 45 mins with a few basic tools. Im on my P's so I just wanted the basic system no headers/extracters/pacemakers etc. If you have the money and time then yeah go around and have a look at exhaust places.
I have to disagree still. Redback do not make a 2 3/4" system.
I have an 02 VY Exec and I just got a Redback 2"5 catback exhaust from a local shop, cost me 370 including the exhaust tip and installment. I'm happy with how it sounds. and it seems to be a bit louder since i got it too.
