I broke my fuel cap cover this morning on my vy commodore and tried to glue it on with no success anyone have any ideas I don't want to leave it the way it is and have people syphon my fuel.
First I took mine off, Then I glued it using super glue to hold it in place, then when that went off, I used Siki flex.. End result it held together.. Either that or buy a new one & get it colour coded.
mate try some araldite, happened to my mates VT was fixed in 10 minutes we held it on for say 2-3 minutes then let it sit for a while.
i work in a mitre 10 and RRP on the ultra clear in a small 2 part pack is about $8.95.
you don't need the ultra clear there is 2 other types but incase of spillage i recommend the ultra clear.
If its like the VX cap, I paid about $25 for a replacement from holden and painted it myself.
this happend to my mates vx he boght a new one then had autobarn match a spray can up and he painted it it looked good dont know how much he paid for the cover but the paint was like $20 for one little spot
edit the guy above came up at the same time so like what he said
ive had the same problem for a while.. cept mine snapped off and dissapeared... finally managed to snap one up off ebay.. fortunetly its the same colour as my car![]()
Just go to a wreckers & see if u can find one. VT-VZ are all the same.
The Blue One
this is like a holden fault, I had this problem also on my vy. the shitty thin plastic just doesnt hold up. I bought a new cap and sprayed it myself. make sure you assemble it properly and use all piece it comes with if you do, some people tend to forget the little metal flick latch thing that makes it pop out when you push the button
