I know this is probably a pissy issue, but i was wondering peoples opinions, pros & cons, etc of having the engine cover (turtle shell) on or off?
Do a search mate, been done to death.
I prefer without, they look sad with the shell on.
I have the twin LS1 covers, they look awesome, painted the same as the colour of the car.

Turtle shells also trap the heat in,twin covers are the go.
hey mate its your decision wheather you want it off or on reallyme i would take it off an leave it like that.. no point putn separate covers on coz they hold heat to???? looks alot neater just engine showing!!!!!
Just remember that an engine is better warm than cold. Without the covers the engine takes a slight bit longer to get to that warm stage. So if you do above 3000RPM within the first 5 minutes of driving probably keep them on. As long as you have coolant that will make sure it doesn't overheat.
They look poop i reckon. Get some twin covers, heaps better.
painted mine satin black. looks a lot better now.
Painted the letters and numbers on mine. And the hold down bolts.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
Thats not the turtle shell...
But looks ok anyways.
