I just replaced my standard single stacker cd player with a standard six stacker (the one without the antenna up/down buttons and 10amp red fuse) and now my antenna wont go up or down, has anyone else come across this problem before? can anyone help????

I assume if you put the single unit back in it all works fine?? What you also may find is if the new unit is out of a sedan/wagon you'll need to set the unit to your current speaker config via tech2 other wise you'll be showing front rear speakers ect.. Apart from that I didn't think there was anything difference

I think you will have to wire up a seperate switch to your aerial. The 6 disc stackers have different aerial wiring to the single unit because they are in Calais/Statos, & have aerial memory for positioning thru the Body Control Module.
Hi Black VY. Have you been able to find a solution to your antenna dramas? I have just replaced my single stacker cd player with a six stacker cd player on my VZ, and have the same problem as you - the antenna will not extend when the stereo is turned on. I put my old sigle stacker back in & the antenna works fine. Can anyone please help?
Hi All,
I know the feeling, I had the same trouble when I changed my stock 6 stacker a little while ago. I know that it is a range of voltage levels that go down the antenna wire that makes the antenna go up, down etc but I don't know what those signals (voltages) are. I have asked on different posts myself but I don't think anyone knows. I even sent Phreddy an e-mail, but he is very busy and in huge demand. If anyone does find out, can they please let me know as I would like to get my antenna going as well.
Cheers and Merry Christmas![]()
My suggestion would be to check the wiring diagrams that are on the stickers ontop of the radios themselves.
Check if the antenna power wire is in the same position.
Cheers for your help Farlig, sadly the wire carries an instruction to the BCM that most other units can't replicate. I can make the aerial go up and down, but I can't control it's movements like the original head unit allowed me to do i.e lower the aerial and leave it at a certain height.
I think the signal that the stock head unit sent was a data packet or a change in voltage or frequency.
You'll have to wire in extra buttons to alter the height. I'm not sure of the wire colours to do this (check wiring diagram), and from memory, you only need to ground them (through the buttons). Don't quote me on this, it's been a while - check the wiring diagrams.
could you wire a potentiometer in line with the antenna wire? That'd help you vary the voltage
or try & get in touch with Dr.Bob as he has mentioned to me about a year ago, that the antenna will need to be re-wired by a "competent" auto elec.
Well, have just had my VZ re-programmed with a Tech2 & the antenna is working OK now. The variable height adjustment doesn't work via the headunit, but at least the antenna now raises & lowers as per the single stacker I had. Hopefully this will be the same for your VY.
Cost $55 for Holdens to do the Tech2 update.
