Hey guys,
I own a 2002 VY holden exec.
My handbrake has been working fine till my dad took it out for a drive.
Its parked on my driveway which is quiet steep and when I pull the handbrake up, it doesn't seem to lock in...
When you pull it you can feel tension so I don't think the handbrake cable has broken (if that's even likely?) and it doesn't feel totally loose
It also doesn't make that clicking noise anymore when you don't press the button and pull it up, its just not locking in.
Could you guys please help? would it be expensive to repair and what could be broken?

Handbrake ratchet failure
Need to get a new handbreak, Only like $40. The yellow thing from the button has come away from the metal thing connected to the cable.

Just another question, were should I buy a handbrake from?
would it be best to buy it from holden or a wreckers and take it to my local mechanic for install?
thanks
