Hi everyone,
sorry for this real newbie post, but I'm interested to know what other peoples thoughts are on the average life of the VY engine.
My VY Exec II Wagon (dual fuel) is coming up to 190,000km. How many km do you think I can expect from the engine - given that it is driven well and serviced reliably. Some say 300,000km but I'm interested to know if this is correct.
Thanks![]()
how longs a piece of string ????
This would be nice to know as I just bought a 2004 VY with only 56xxxkmwill probably sell it around the 150xxxkm
I got 340.000 out of my old VT with out touching the motor at all with oil changes about every 15.000
How long will an engine last? That's like asking "How long will I live for?"
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho
My old mans work car, a vs acclaim has 439 000 kays on it. It has only done a fuel pump so far. It's had an easy life though, only highway kays and regular servicing. Depends how they are driven and what the maintanence is like in answer to your question though.
I bought my car at about 224,000 km, mostly country k's, so I will be expecting it to exceed 300,000 easily. I've driven it a bit over 10,000 since then, with lots of short trips, which isn't helping!!!
what would be considered a thrashing? im sure it wouldnt significantly hurt an engine giving it a rev to say 5k, not all day, but how would u describe spirited driving? or would thrashing be hard driving with little or no maintenance?
sorry, didnt realise the age of this thread
Who cares by the time It goes u will be able to get another engine for $100
