I'm looking at buying a VY SS and was wondering if it's worth getting one with the leather interior?
Is it worth the extra cost, hassle?
very odd question indeed.... the best answer i can give you is this, if You like leather then i would say get it, however if You dont like leather then i would say no dont do it. Hope this helps. I'm a fan so i got leather.it is no hassle, can be hot to sit on if left in the sun but is easy to keep clean and maintain.
Bloody oath it's worth it..... The non leather seat trims are cr.p !!! Leather is top quality & will last for 30 years , just needs a leather conditioner rubbed into it twice a year (use "Dobbin") avail at shoe shops yellow tin, about $15 a tin.
I got a leather VY Berlina.. really good!!..
have had no doubt having it.. may get a bit hot lol.. but thats life thats where u gottta toughen up lol.. but other then that good.. i love it.. comfortable!
The Blue One
Go leather it looks so nice and everyone loves it and the feel, just you burn you ass on it when its been in the sun for sometime so always use a sunshade to try and keep the sun off it.
leather can be good, treat it well lasts for years, as someone else said rub dubbin on it and it will stay good.
better than dubbin is the genuine jaguar leather conditioner. this is great stuff. we use it on jags, astons, bentleys. if you go to the spare parts counter at you local jag dealer and ask for JHM1157. its about the same price as dubbin but IMO its better.
All personal preference. I would never get another car without leather.
I'd say get leather if you can afford it. Mine has it and I would never get without leather again. It just feels better quality and smells better.
I love it. The smell, the feel, the look. Given the choice I'd always go the leather - but that's just me, personal preference at the end of the day - it's a bit like asking "should I get red or blue paint?".
People say it gets hot in the sun, but honestly, I disagree. I jumped into my car after leaving it parked in the summer sun for hours, and it's never felt any hotter than my fabric-trimmed VT did (if anything I'd say it was less hot!) and I have anthracite leather, not cream.
As for cleaning? Leather wins hands down. You spill a cup of coffee on a leather seat? No dramas, get a rag, wipe it off, you're pretty much done. Do the same on a cloth seat, and you pretty much have to steam clean it, and even then you might not get the stain out.
So yeah, go the leather dude!
