Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice.
The clutch in my Ute could really do with replacing; it does not bite until you take your foot almost fully off the clutch. I have had no slippage so far but am guessing it won't be long now before I do.
Holden want $1500 to replace it which sounds like far too much to me. Especially seeing as I just spent $1000 on a bloody service this week at Holden.
I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you think would be a better clutch than the genuine Holden ones and also roughly what they cost. The engine is totally stock so I do not need to go for anything too extreme but I also want something solid as I do like to give the car a good work out on the odd occasion. Especially accelerating and shifting pretty hard.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Mal Wood option 3 clutches are very good. Around the $2400 mark for everything you need to do the job, plus installation if you don't want to tackle it yourself. We did my brothers and it was pretty straight forward.
i just installed a xtreme heavy duty clutch in my VY, cost me $1200 plus install and im happy with it. still feels reasonably stock but no slippage when im driving spiritedly.
Ah ok fair enough. I do not really know what most of the brands are and which ones are supposed to be good. i was looking at the textralia ones and they look quite good?
They're supposed to be ok but i've heard they have a bad shudder in them also. I only recommend the Mal Wood because i've driven one first hand and it'll be the one that'll be going in my ss if i replace my stock clutch.
tex or MW is the way to go
cheers GM
