I lowered my vy exec about a month back and only recently noticed it sits unevenly. its lower on the right side. is this a spring problem or something else? they're king spring ultra lows and I don't know whether to call my mechanic or king springs. any advice appreciated. thanks.
Go to any suspension specialist. They will be able to analyse for you and if becessary, take remedial steps.
were they s/h springs?...mismatched springs possible...DOH...if your going to ring king springs must be new...did you change shocks to short travel type...might be bottoming out in the shock and holding it up on the left...both rubber spring locators in and sitting properly?....sitting on the bump stops?...quick say yes to one of the above cause im running out of ideas lol...
could be the shocks, they're just the standards ones. but my mechanic said they'd do the trick, its just my ride will be bumpy. and they're new springs, all in one box (for the rear) not sure about the rest, I'll have to get my mechanic to have a look![]()
just checking to see if anyone else had the same problem. its not a huge difference in height but its noticeable if you properly look.
he should not of told you that standard shocks would be ok with ultras...not only wont they retain the spring when you take weight off them they will also run out of travel...theres your start point no use looking any further till you remedy this...to modify is money but unavoidable...
My 2003 VY Holden Commodore
i changed my shocks at the same time as the ultras with short travel...after a couple of years working in a suspension specialist (Ron Bowers - Wickham) ive seen my share of failed shocks due to mismatched fitting...your gonna need them so why wait till one fails starts bouncing the wheel and you have a spring fall out...and just to clarify my VP only has SL and original travel shocks...im refering to ultras like as in my VR
