If you think that your engine is running too hot, I suggest you take the vehicle to a radiator specialist. Get them to pressure test and if it hasn't been done before, get the radiator cleaned and the cooling fluid replaced. Amazing how much muck and rubbish they can get out of radiators when the job is done correctly.

I have the 81 degree C , cooler Thermostats fitted in my 3 , Supercharged V6 , vehicles. As I live in QLD these drop the Temp gauge readings to about 1/4 way off cold indication. I reckon they have helped a lot to reduce under bonnet temperatures, which keeps the Fuel rail cooler which keeps the injectors cooler, also keeps inlet air from the Aircleaner cooler , which makes the air/fuel charge denser , which means a bigger , denser amount of air into the combustion chambers , which when detonated gives a more powerful explosion , which drives the pistons down faster which gives more horsepower.....simple!!!!!
Also keeps the supercharger unit cooler so it compresses more cooler air, than hotter air. More air, means more fuel, means more bang!!!!!!!! Why do Jet engines operate more efficiently on a cold day?? Because the air is cooler & compresses more than hot air.
Same with dragsters , V8 supercars , lose Horsepower on Hot days......gain horsepower on cold days....

You shouldnt want it to run cooler.
The engine has been designed to run its best at operating temperature, halfway or there abouts.
