VY Drivers Seat

my drivers seats got power going to it just the motor doesnt work..

holden have tested it and have told me that it would cost $700, cause they have to replace the entire base ?? yea right

tho i was looking in jayar the otherday and i saw they have a few 12v motors ranging from 36rpm upto 8,100rpm

do you think i am able to replace the motor with this ?

Nah mate just go to a wrecking yard and buy the set up i bought a whole seat for $100 and replaced mine it was much easier.

haha mate I don't know how to fix it... probably best going to a wreckers like binghy just suggested. But yeah that $700 is a load of S***. My old man actually paid that (twice I might say) when his VT seat broke and his VY seat broke.... but yeah Holden are a complete rip off.

My motor didnt work when I first picked up the car.

A bit of coaxing and WD40 and the seized motor sprang to life. It just hadnt been used in a while.

yep one of my seat motors was seized when i got my car (go figure, the previous owner probably adjusted it once and didn't touch it ever again). WD40 and a bit of persuasion fixed mine too .

Yeah same as mine, the plastic thread holding the bolt thing in snapped.. Holden said 550 because you had to replace the whole mechanism.. Went to the wreckers, 220 for a driver and passenger berlina seats, which the plastic thread is now metal.
