A/C Smell after use

Howdy - I think this is common to all cars that the air smells coming out of the vents after the A/C is turned off. I believe the evaporator needs a clean, with bacteria etc in the ducts. I have seen a spray can to fix it but does it work? Also is giving the evap a good old clean a DIY job if so where is the thing??

Yeah I think it's a common problem, but some (older units I spose) are worse than others. I usually turn the aircon off and leave the blower going 2 minutes before home, gets the smell out.

If you come up with anything that helps mate, plz post.... Your bacteria theory scares me tho, hello legionella :$

About 7 weeks ago i had mine looked at as it was not working and when i got the car back it did stink as well. After a number of days it dont stink no more at all and you can get some stuff thats ment to stop them from stinking from were you get your aircon serviced at. I do try and run the fan most of the time just befor i get home to dry it out. But if its hot i just let it run till home with no problems at all
