This small rubber elbow - goes into the intake area - has developed a hole and is making a loud hissing noise.
Engine check warning is on intermittently as well.
How do I describe it to get a new one and how do I fit it?
I have wrapped tape around it at the moment.
Thanks for help

I think it's the PCV hose. Go to holden and they'll have a diagram for you to point it out on before you order

Yes its the PCV valve to inlet manifold hose- the heat from the manifold hardens the rubber over time & they fail. If you peel back the larger rubber cover you will find the PCV valve under it. Worthwhile to check it too for blockages , they tend to gunk up . immerse it in petrol for an hour then shake it out , you should be able to blow freely thru it one way but its restricted the other. Make sure you put it back in the line the right way around too (mark one end when you take it off....)
The engine light coming on is because of the leak, it's getting an incorrect fuel mixture...
About as handy as tits on a bull
Thanks for the replies - genuine part is $70 - have to buy the whole tube to the back of the motor. But this is better than the current 5 layers of insulating tape!
That would make sense - mixture too lean.
BTW - the hissing noise was as loud as the proverbial - sounded like a bearing gone. Gave the wife some cause for concern.
Fitted the part in about 10 minutes - not even enough time for one beer.
Oh and the RAC guy told my wife yesterday that the computer was the problem you will need the car towed or drive carefully 30 minutes to the nearest holden dealer. Yeah right I'll do that......
Good work, just shows you the standard of technical skills around , it's like trying to get an accurate weather forecast........impossible!!!!
