    Default Diff question for vy 5.7 auto.

    Looking to upgrade my diff just wondering which gears would be the best?
    been told 3.46 or 3.73 which one is better?
    what is the diferance,lose of top end speed?
    not to sure, can anyone help with some more info?

    3.46 will give you slower accelleration & more top speed for less engine revs, the 3.73 will give you faster accelleration but less top speed for more engine revs.
    The lower the number the more top speed & lesser accelleration....

    It would be the better of the two I reckon , but personally I would stick with a stock ratio 3.07. This gives better fuel economy Make it a 3.07 LSD of course......

    Because the LS 5.7 engines rev so well and don't make a lot of low down torque you won't really notive the extra revs that much even when cruising.
    My LS2 runs 3.46 stock and it never feels like you are pushing it revs wise, not like my old VS M90/L67 supercharged6 with same gears (3.45)where the engine felt like it was revving as you move up the rev range so you always new were pushing a few more revs.
    There is very little difference in fuel use between 3.07 and 3.46 but you will notice the difference with 3.73's as cruising seems to be in a more fuel usage rev band.
