    Default Engine heated up!!!

So in driving down parra road in Sydney and I get the engine hot warning. The arm is all the way on red. Then I turned off my air and cd player and after 2 mins it went down to 50/50. But it fluctuated 3 times till I got somehwere I could park, only to maybe 80%, not max.

    Anyone experience that before?

Not crazy mate, you should check ur coolant level every 2 weeks or so depending on what season where in! Summer should be checked more often.

If your talking about a V6 then yep i had it a number of times in my VT as it used to drink the coolant. If you have a V6 you have to bleed the system as your coolant has go to low and your problem will come back with out doing it.

Check the radiator tank on the passenger side of the car for cracking,it's a common fault with VYs with V6 engines (assuming it is a V6).
I've seen these crack with as little as 5,000KMs and as many as 120,000KMs on original fitted radiators. There was a manufacturing problem with the plastic moulding when the tanks were built.

If your coolant is low,you have a leak,it can't just disappear.
And as mentioned, make sure you bleed it properly. Also check the cap (or replace it to be sure) and get it pressure tested asap,it will be money well spent.

UPDATE: you could be right about that fault. i poured 2.5L of coolant in the radiator cap and it started leaking down the bottom this smelly dusty water crap. it was like dust coloured water.

got couple mates to look at it and they couldnt figure out whats wrong, but one pipe was leading up to the steering which was wet, and he tighted some screws
however it was dripping where the coolant reservoir is, and we think the leak is from that original pipe. but it didnt leak 2.5L of coolant, so i dont know what that brown liquid is
gonna take it in on monday!

    bus/train time to work!

If it feels like water then thats what it is and sounds like you have a nice rust problem with yours as well. You will need to find were its leaking from and also have your full system flushed as well.

Try to find where it's comming from I had my radiator core go in my vt v6 commodore
try looking at the front of the radiator if it looks wet it's a possability thats the problem
it might be the water pump as well.
    dont hold me to it.
