Hey guyz
Just got my vy berlina today and realised that... the cd player continues to play after I take the key out of the ignition?
Is this an ignition problem or is there a setting in the car that changes how long the elctronics work for or something?
It should turn off as you open the door with the keys out of the ignition. Look in your user manual and you will find the delay settings to disable this feature if you wish
VYII Calais L67
If you turn your car off it i think the time is 30mins the radio and windows will work for. when you open your door they all should turn off IE radio.
When you turn your key hold down the Mode buttons up and down buttons so you can get in the settings if you want to see what else you can change like auto locking when out of park.
Mate, your stereo is meant to stay on after taking the keys out of the ignition, but after you open the door, it should turn off (except the headlights if you have them set to a delay, and the windows will continue for another 3 mins or so or until you press LOCK on your key)....if this is what it is doing, then no worries perfectly normal.
If the stereo doesn't turn off after opening the door, then you just need to fiddle around with the drivers door sensor thing near the hinge of the door, cos sometimes this can get stuck and the car doesn't realise that you have opened the door.
Anyway, as said above, you can disable this feature in the Options menu I believe... so it turns everything off once you turn the key to OFF (except headlights depending on settings and elec. windows).
Have a good one mate,
Ben
Thanks guyz for that extremely quick reply. I will check it out later! I think the guy I talked to at holden is a bit of a losty? he said it may be the ignition switch stuffed?
I'm hoping the holden dealer doesn't rip me off when I get my first service there, I know what dealers are like... But it does feel safer for my first service to go to a hodlen dealer for some reason~~ hahaha
Any suggestions for a good mechanic place to go too?
I don't know where you live, but I live in Sydney and take my VY II SS to Willem at Winmalee Car Care. The ONLY place to work on my car, from servicing, to aftermarket tuning etc.
Awesome prices, and great work.
Extractors, 100cpi ballistic cats, Sureflo 3.5" medium exhaust, DUS OTR, Oztrack Tune, Phreddy dash, stereo, black windows, Lovell springs, and a good alarm
