Default Speaker deep fowl on window

Does anyone know the maximum depth a speaker can be for the front door of a VY? ive heard if its to deep you it can stop the window winding down all the way

ive also heard the mounts need to be modded to fit a 6.5inch woofer, ture or false?

true, the mounts are too small. but a simpy hack saw can fix this. It will not fowl the window as the window comes down behind it.

think of cutting a cone in half. where you cut it will have a wider diameter then the cone did before.

Mounts I believe are 6inch. Use a spacer to make it 6.5inch.

It would have to be really deep to foul the window.

I have the Response (Jaycar) 6.5" Kevlar splits - they are 73mm deep and fit fine.

Depends how thick the spacer is. If it's thick MDF the speaker might foul the door trim.
