Default high pitched wine vy manual

Hey guys i have recently brought this vy ute manual, and its got this high pitched wine.
it comes on after about 2500rpm, and get louder with more revs.
It goes away when you take the slack out of the clutch pedal, no pressure on the pedal just taking to slack (2-5mm)

I am thinking its either spiggot bush, or thrust bearing. anyone had something similar??

I also wanting to know will it cause any damage? as to do either its a fairly time consuming job and would be worth getting the whole clutch assy done, cars got 145000klms and on its first clutch. So soon the clutch will need doing and i was going to wait untill then.

also its not all the time, sometimes its worse then others and sometimes not really evident lolz

    thanks guys

tried kicking the bitch out, lolz not her.
also its not coming from the speakers, u can only hear it with the radio off its that subtle. Also it something involved with the clutch cause it only happens when theres no pressure on the pedal

cheers for the thoughts anywho :P

Could be either the spigot or the thrust bearing. Generally they make different noises so a good mechanic should be able to tell the difference. I hafound that spigot bearing noises get louder when letting the clutch out and thrust bearing noises will go away when you have that light pressure on them, so my guess is thrust bearing.
If you are going to do a clutch anyway i would change the spigot as well just to make sure you dont have to pull the box out again.

    Cheers Shane

cheers for that bud, i was thinking it was either of the two.
do you reckon it will be ok if i fix it all (including spiggot bush) when the clutch is seeing its day?
i just dont want to to cause more damage, which i can see it doing really but rather be safe then sorry

    cheers mate
