Does anyone know if the vy series2 headlight switch is illuminated? Everything else is but not this switch. Also what is the white plug with the 5 or so prongs to the left of the glove box? It's easy to see if you take off the panel that supplies air to the door vent, you know the panel that has the "no baby capsule" emblem due to the air bag.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
My VY Sr 2 Berlina one is Illuminated, And i am quite sure that my Sr 1 VY Executive is also illuminated.
I assume your bulb is probably gone? Common problem with incandescent lamps.
Cheers,

Ok I have gently pried at the switch with a small flat head screwdriver and it doesn't want to come out, what's the trick please?

Any one? How does the head light switch come out, would like to check it today and replace bulb if needs be. And still wondering what that plug on the passenger side is^^^^? Thanks guys.

i believe gently wont do it!
No dont pull it
take off the cover plate on the dash where the air passes from the dash to the door and then take the cluster sourrond off, reach in and there are 2 small clips you must press in on each side to be able to remove the swtich
Thanks, I got it off -by pulling it! all good, but couldn't get right in to the guts of it to check for a light. Still waiting to hear if anyone knows what the plug on pass side is for?

The lights are not LED's they are globes, i got them confused in my last post
how do you open the headlight switch. I have the back cover off, and I can see the shaft but now I'm stuck.

Now sporting ASR audio interior lighting and stereo mods, and MACE induction mods.
Need your computer tuned, or dash calibrated??? Want your PS3 fixed, or wish to prevent the YLOD?
Once you have the back cover off i used a flat blade screw driver to pop out the shaft, the black nobby thing in the center.
Then remove the 2 silver clips that hold it into the dashand then pcb will come out.
Take note which part goes where and which way or you will be stumped for a while (i was ) some parts only go in one way.
to put it back together non fog light switch
1 pop the shaft into the back housing (must go in the way it came out it the switch will not fit back together, it appears to fit bothways but it will sit further in one way, thats what you need)
2 place the pcb on the shaft
3 put on the little part that turns and makes the connections (what ever its called, will also only fit one way)
4 push on the clips that hold the switch to the dash
5 insert the base with all the above parts into the other half of the switch untill it clips in
6 push on the part you turn for the lights to come on
for the fog light switch there is a extra part between the shaft the rear part of the pcb.
The switch will come apart more but its a real pain to get back together and you dont need to take it out to get to the globes.
If you need ill take a pic tomorow.
Just so you know the only difference between the fog light and non fog light is a connector that moves and a plastic part inside.
The pcb is the same
on vy 1 i think car needs to be on and the headlights on.
on vy 2 only car needs to be in ign.
they all work. mine never did, the one day 1 of the 5 globes worked. get phreddy to hook up a fix in green if you want.
