    Default Plug beside glove box

Ok friends, I asked this question in my recent thread about the head light switch, but maybe it was overlooked. There is a vacant white plug on the left hand side of the glove box (easy to see when the vent supply to the door is removed) The plug has about five prongs in it and is just "there" doing nothing. I've racked my brain trying to think what it might be for. Ages ago on here I saw something about this very plug but I'm stuffed if I can find it again.
Any ideas or definite answers really appreciated guys

I don't think so, the phone wiring is under the centre console directly beneath and behind the stereo. I know this because I disconnected the existing one that was there when I bought the car.

They're all wrapped up with black insulation stuff-hard to see where they go, but I just had another look and there are four prongs along the top of the plug and two down the bottom. With the glove box open one can see the plug up through the gap, not too far above the computer. On the VY, at least.

I believe that plug you're talking about is the connector for the speaker for the factory GPS system. It mounts behind the glovebox.

Ok that's possible but would a speaker plug have six prongs? Just wondering 'cos it may be another source of 12 volt power to run one of my "continuing array of ongoing accessories and mods."

well it might not be for rear speakers due to the fact that your car is a sedan and has nothing plugged into it.

I've had a look at the factory manual diagrams about this. It's definitely the feed for the GPS.

Correction, it's not the connector for the speaker itself, but it is for the GPS loom. The speaker does only have 2 wires, that connector should have 4 active pins. One of them is 12v, I've tapped into it before. Can't recall if it's constant or accessory 12v.
