T/C Button

Hi all

The traction control button on my Vy ss seems to be intermittent....Sometimes the button does'nt seem to change the display on the dash...However if you turn off the engine and restart the car it works fine..

Any ideas?

pikey, when you start a vehicle it will always switch on T/C (it's a safety feature) unless it's been disabled. As for the intermittent issue, that would most likely just be the switch or not very possible, but still a maybe chance the plug on the bottom isn't connected properly.

Think there may be a little bit more to it than a loose connector,

I have a 2004 CV8 (a VY Monaro.) Sometimes, if the car has been sitting around for a few days when you start it the "Traction/OFF" logo comes up on the centre LCD unit. Pushing the t/c button on the centre console seems to have no effect.

If you stop the engine (ignition off) and start the car again all is fine and the t/c button on the centre console works as normal.

I have only noticed this a few time in the last 12 months.

Local Holden dealer has no idea on the subject......

Thats exactly the same symptons as i have...Once you restart the car it all works well....I dont often use the the TC feature but i would be good to have it working properly

Anyone have any ideas?

a dying battery can do stuff like this. it did for me. replaced battery and problem solved.
