I'm looking into getting an exhaust for my S-pack, i know there are about a thousand threads about them so before you jump all over me, this isnt all im asking.
I'm not looking for a huge performance gain I would just like a nice rumble and roar..and all do i spose, whats the best way to get an exhaust setup done, without completely redoing the whole system...and is there really much of a difference between redoing the whole thing from the headers/extractors all the way through (im not a massive mechanically skilled person but ide like something that sounds a little meaner than stock) so if you could help me out with what kind of price ide be looking at, and maybe some good places to go to get this done around templestowe/doncaster in eastern melbourne suburbs, ide appreciate it!, thanks guys

Hey mate if ur in the Donnie area u can hear mine it's just a redback catback system. Was 300 from ringwood it does the job. If ur looking for a real good note from a 6 ur gonna need to get the whole exhaust done which will be over $1000.
im not massively concerned with getting the crispest note i can find, just want a half decent note that sounds a bit louder than stock n dont want somee droney whiny sounding exhaust either, where abouts around donnie are u from , im guessing the 91 in ur name is the year u were born, chances are we might of even gone to the same school lol, T-C ftw

punch a hole in ur exhaust lawwwll
sorry buddy, i'm in the middle of nowhere in NSW - can't help you on dealers...
bugger...ah well...and as for the hole punching, think ill give that one a miss!! ...now to work n get some cash together to start doing some tasteful stereo mods instead cos i cbf spending a grand on an exhaust when i could work the sh** out of my sound system for that much

V6's don't roar, they fart and drone.
Cheapest way to get performance and roar is with a V8.
well ive said plenty of times not gettin a V8 cos it"ll just get out of hand with engine mods and ill be forever broke, so im happy with a V6 cruiser, but if i do feel the urge to rumble at the lights with somebody i want the person next to me to know thats whats up lol, instead of the tame quietness of the VY V6....its a nice engine but it needs to be let out of its soundproof box

True, you will need to go from the extractors back to get any performance increase. If you only want sound then you can spend around $400-$500 on a cat back system.
If you want sound for cheap, take out your rear muffler and put a straight through pipe there. You get more roar and no drone when cruising (first hand experience).
Some people reckon if you take your battery off for a few hours your computer chip will reset. If you then thrash the shit of of the car for a full tank the car "learns" to give more grunt. Others say if you simply continuously thrash it, the computer will "learn" anyway. Others say it's all BS.
There is not much you can do for cheap when it comes to the V6.
hmm...removing the muffler sounds like a cheapo way to go, but wouldnt that be illegal?, im looking into becoming a cop atm so probly not the best idea to get canaried on my daily lol, ill just put some cash away n when ive got a couple of grand im gunna upgrade everything i want at once, instead of just dribs and drabs

Ring a place called "Hallam Performance" (in Hallam obviously) and ask for Barney. He is the man, and he will sort you out. I have had ALL my exhaust work on all 3 of my cars done by him, and about to get him to do my LS1 exhaust. He is a bloody genius, and won't let your car leave the workshop until he is satisfied it's perfect.

What will improve the power is some cold air intake mods, high ratio roller rockers like YT 1.95:1 and the best bang for buck after that is an LSD with higher ratio gears like 3.73:1. That will get the car off the line nicely and should improve 0-100 times by half a second or so.

Or just strap a blower on. They are the best bang for buck mod![]()

sounds like all you want is an exhaust and some pacemakers maybe.
so do that, well worth it
