I did a search, but couldn't find exactly what i was after. I'd like to know if the two hole mod is really worth the effort on an LS1? Or does it more or less just create a gay induction noise that everyone seems to think is awesome and worth the time of going through the whole procedure?
Does it ACTUALLY do anything for throttle response?

I also just realised, my ute is an 04' series 2 VY SS, i think they actually came with the Monaro intake from factory. Pretty sure they have the induction hole AND a sort of scoop next to the hole in the lower half of the airbox.

Sweet thanks man! I'm hoping mine was one of the series 2 SS's that had the MCAI.

I reckon its worth it, its an easy mod & isnt seen from the top so shouldnt affect resale value , I think just looking at the single hole inlet , it just looks too small when compared to the throttle body diameter. Theres no noticeable inlet roar heard , but I guess on full throttle there would be , especially with a K&N air filter. So for an hour & a couple of bucks its a great mod.....![]()
Yeah but did you feel any noticible gains? If it just creates induction noise, even if it took 5 minutes, it's worth the effort in my opinion. Induction noise is gay. If i want sweet induction noise, i'll buy a supercharger.

moticed a difference when i ditched it and got a otr though.
Hahaha, that's what i'm saving for now. But need to do the exhaust and extractors before i go with a Mafless and OTR to save having the tune touched up a second time.

Holden knew the inlet was restricting it which is why a couple of vehicles even had the inlet gap increased to try and get more air in. I didn't change my filter or anything else, just the massive hole and pipe. Definatly felt better and none of this crappy sucking noise people are talking about. Maybe when i change my filter it will come though![]()
My quick Vy 2 hole mod review:
1. Turn car on
2. Noise similar to something you'd hear if someone pointed a vacuum cleaner at you when cold.
The end.
Not worth it at all, otr ftw everytime.
Looks like i won't be wasting my time then! Thanks guys!
