My 2003 VY CV8 has the Holden by Design sunroof, which sags down lower than the roofline once it is shut, i've been told it is a simple matter of tightening it but i am still unsure of what to tighten . . .
Can anyone lend a hand here?
These are notoriously iffy in regards to shutting properly , try going thru a full opening/closing sequence, followed by a full tilt/untilt sequence, sometimes it gets confused when it gets asked to close fully from a tilt position , they are controlled by the Body Control Module. Even try disconnecting yoyur battery for a couple of minutes to clear any memory faults in the BCM..
Nah its nothing to do with the electronics, it closes to the right level for a second but then "falls" down another 5-10mm at the back, into the roof.
maybe talk to a sunroof specialist. mine has the odd hissy fit but not what you explain, mine "forgets" to automatically shut sometimes.
yea sunroofs can be serviced... worth having an expert look at it
I am ahhh, Failing to see how the BCM controls the Sunroof?
I am in the Process of installing one, And on the wiring harness it just has constant, accessories and negative ? Doesn't the sunroof memory come from the Sunroof itself? (Module near motor)
Cheers.
just curious sixty6, roughly how much does it cost to buy/install one , i was contemplating it as a possible mod for my VY S-pack but i thought it might be a bit pricey for a mod that would be just a cherry on top

Well like Archers said, He picked one up for $75. Not sure which Calais or what model is was, But $75 isn't too bad. So in that respect, It depends whether you want to Purchase new or a second hand unit.
The one i am installing is a Webasto Holandia, These are used on all Holdens however different models are used throughout Holdens release of them. The one i am installing has full tilt and slide, With memory settings (I don't think pre Vy other then HSV had this option?) And these retail at around $2500, I think. And go on eBay for around $1200.
As for installation i am not 100% as i am most likely going to be doing it myself, But i would have expected to pay around $500 to get it done well. This is not something i would skimp out on - The installation that is.
How long ago was that done mate?
full tilt and slide ftw! even though i hardly open it, i just tilt it.
10K in a year?...you must have gone to town on your car that year mate, some form of crazy ass supercharger im guessing lol, yeah i think ill just give the sunroof a miss, more hastle than its worth to me i think
