    Unhappy No Switch For Foggies

In my S-pack that ive recently bought the foggies are hooked up to the standard driving lights, as this would make it illegal to drive at night im wondering if anybody knows how much it will cost and where to go to get a switch fitted/connected so i can turn them on/off, its a little annoying know that if a cop pulls me over im screwed, im holding on to the "i bought it like this and im going in on the weekend to get it fixed" excuse but sooner or later thats not gonna fly any more, any help would be appreciated!

There should be provision on your existing headlight switch, the factory optional foggies were connected onto it , so you turn to parkers or headlight on position then pull the knob out to turn on the fog lights, check behind your headlight switch & see if theres cut of wires or spare terminals there........

my foggies come on when i turn my parkers on, n stay on when ive got my headlights on, even on auto the foggies stay on, im pretty sure they werent a factory option, the guy who owned it previously put them in i think n looks to have done it a bit of a dodgey way because they dont have their own switch

The factory fog lights do not have a seperate switch. To activate the fog lights after the parking lights are activated, pull the light switch outwards and that should then activate the fog lights. Fog lights should not be wired so that they come on with the headlights. To drive around (on a road) with both headlights and fog lights operating is illegal. Fog lights should only be used WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS during periods of extrememly low visibility (fog, smoke, dust). The reason that fog lights are set low in the bumper and only meant to operate with parking lights is to minimise the reflected light that is thrown back towards the driver when driving in fog. ADR's stipulate the maximum wattage allowable for fog lights - in fact for all auto lights.

i know its illegal...thus why i said...ITS ILLEGAL to drive with my lights the way they are, the guy who owned the car before me had the lights wired up in such a way that my foggies come on automatically with the headlights, which is why i want to know if theres a way to get the switch setup for it nice and easy, you gave alot of information but nothing i didnt already know, thanks for the input but it didnt help

1.I DONT have the switch that pulls out to turn the foglights on/off
2.I want to know if anybody has put the switch in and where i can get one for a reasonable price

the best bet to fix it up is to go to a holden dealership and order the foglight switch[from memory only cost me 50-60 $$$] for your car and try fitting it or go to an auto elec

    Steve

Someone bought one recently from Holden for only about $43. I reckon you would be better off just buying the switch new, rather than stuffing around with E-bay for such a cheap item. Remember that they come in at least two colours (black and Dark Tempest) so specify what colour you need.

Try motortraders (if you have them there) as they usually sell everything holden do, but without the huge price tag.
