my girlfriend who always seems to be too weak to carry things at the supermarket, decided to enter hulk mode and rip my lock knob out... (im just calling it a lock nob the little nib that pops up and down with the red insert) i have worked out how it operates to fix it but the red nib has been burred along the thread and will no longer grip... got any idea on the part numbers?
also for a while now my passenger side power window is extremely slow and needs some form of lubricant im guessing, i havent pulled the trim off to look yet am being lazy but without looking just wondering if there is something i can lubricate or a tension i can adjust? am new to the power windows scene....
while im at it what size are the stock speakers in the VY ?
cheers in advance, harrison
Those little red lock clips would be as cheap as chips from Holden or you could get them from a wrecker. No idea of part number though.
The window problem is possibly caused by the rubber channel binding on the glass. Lower the window fully and check the condition of the channels around the window opening and especially down inside the door - you might have to unclip the belt moulding trim (the strip on the outside of the door at the bottom of the window opening) to give yourself a clear view of the door interior. Also look to see if there is any contaminant stuck to the glass like bird crap, tree sap etc, which could be binding inside the channel.
Stock speakers are 6 inchers.
yeah am headed to holden tomorrow to see if i can get any further with the red nib.. only happened today anyway.
as for the window its as clear as day no muck on it but i do believe the rubber is pressing on it, how do i move it away? or whats a clear lube that wouldnt affect the glass or corode the rubber?
silicone spray dwn the rails and operate the window at the same time. thats what ive always done and hasnt damaged no components. then jsut sum window cleaner after ur done and there u go
