Vy s1 calais climate control problem

g'day
i have a 2003 vy series 1 calais with climate control
just recently it started playing up with the engine running one of the vac actuators i think it is the windscreen one just keeps opening and closing every few seconds. when you push the demist button 99% of the time it stops and then you put it back on face and it can behave it's self for hours.

my question is has anyone else had this problem and do you know what it is?

i recon i will work it out but if i need parts would like to only have to pull it apart once.
any info would be great

does it happen when the AC is off as well?

yes it happens when the whole climate control unit is turned off.
