VY SV8 Brake warning light and chime

Hi guys,
Just bought myself an 02 SV8 and took it for a nice long drive today. Was driving up the gillies range up here (263 corners, 19km), well absolutely hooning, got to the top and my brake light came on as though i was driving with the handbrake on then my brakes got soft. Had to drive about another 5km or so before i could pull over and it stayed on the whole time. When I stopped i checked the brake fluid and it was full and looked clean. Let it sit for about 10mins then carried on and it was all back to normal. What could have caused this? Did i maybe push it a little hard and the brakes overheated or something else? What should i check?

sounds like you have boiled the brake fluid in the lines, it may look ok in the master cylinder but it would crap fluid in the lines. did the break peddle go to the floor at all

Brake pedal went real spongy but don't think i got it right to the floor. Was trying my best not to use the brakes before i stopped
