hey guys just wondering if i can put sssl's in the rear of my vy s pack ute like is it safe as apparently they dont make that low for utes so i was thinking of using sedan springs
will i need shorter shocks or is it ok to use my originals as they are only brand new themselves?
will it sit on bumstops or can i take them out or something?
what is the best way to go about it ?
cheers for any help guys and will put a build up once i get it lowered
I wouldnt recommend going that low in a ute because the second you put anything in the back your going to get rubbing and scraping, not a good feeling, its also never a good idea to put springs designed for a different purpous into a vehicle I could only see that ending badly

ok yeah kool thanks for the advice so would you say maybey go ultra low instead and is it worth putting the shorter shocks in as mine are pretty good at the moment
hey mate ive had sedan ssl springs in the back of my vu ute for over a year and have never had a problem with carrying 2 motorbikes, on both 17" and 20" wheels
hey mate,
well ill tell u this.
if u wanna lower ur ute on 20's, you wont be happy with the height unless you lower it on sedan sssl's.
the reason i say thisis because utes dont drop alot, because the tray is so light & doesnt drop the car heaps.
so this is wat ide do.
order KHFL-47sl for the front & KHRL-46sssl for the rear, trust me you'll be happy with this height.
you wont need shortened shocks straight away, but if you can afford it buy some aswell, wont hurt it if your low on cash, & wanna buy the shocks later.
if you need anymore help mate give me a hell![]()
mate ide go KHFL-47sl in the front & KHRL-46sssl's in the rear, dont listen to other people,, if u want it low, these are the springs for ya mate.
as utes dont drop alot, because of the lightness in the tray, this is wat you'll need.
you wont have trouble gettin over speedhumps, & it wont rub anywher in the rear, if it does rub anywhere, its easy to fix,
you can use you standard shocks with these springs, but if youve got the cash go buy some shortened shocks
the sssl's in the rear will have ur rear guard sittin level with the rim, thats with 20's though. wat size rims have u got???
& if you through some bags of sand in th back, you'll have some tuckage
aww & with ur bump stops mate, it may sit on them bit take the rubber, caseing out from the springs chop enough of the rubber off it, then wack it back in the car.. there should be plenty of room between the bumpstops now![]()

ok yeah kool cheers paz 6 i am running 16" alloys at the moment and will be for atleast another 12months
so i keep my shocks i have now?
cut my bumpys down a bit?
and it will still be ok to drive around and wont be that bad i cant drive it or i wont wanna drive cause it be too ruff mind you i have always had bagged trucks so i have had a fair share of ridding bagged on leafs for a bit so ride quality isnt an issue to an extent .
do you have any picks of these springs in a ute already?
yeh u can use stock shocks mate, yeh just cur ur bumpstops & it'll be sweet.
ahh i dont have anypics sorry mate,
maybe try google,
if i see my mate, i might take a pic of his ,he's sometimes got 16's on the back of his vz ute, & has compressed sssl's in his lol so obviously that'll be lower lol
but with sssl's the guard should sit abit above the 16's mate,
if youve drivin low cars mostly i dont think comfort will really bother u![]()
ok yeah sweet as man cheers so i just get the shocks on their own i dont need anything else for it aye
