Hi just trying to figure out the date stamp on my cars battery. It's got a genuine battery in it still and it is stamped "11L3". I'm guessing it may mean 11/2003 in which case it would be the original battery.
11L3 would be 11 (date) L (Month = November) 3 (Year = 2003). Months are worked out using A = January, B = February etc. I is not used.
Thanks for that. So it's the original battery in it still. Has anyone else got a battery that is that old? th eoldest I have had prior to this is about 4 years.
just had to replace the battery in my crewy, sep 03 model.
heres my ride, i know its not much but its mine

I still have my original battery in my 03 vy which i brought brand new, saying that now it will proberly die in the next couple of days.
The best I've achieved is 7 and a half years. To prolong the life of a battery install a battery conditioner, they prevent sulphate from building up on the plates. Here's what I use Revive your batteries with First Aid for Batteries. They are readily available around Australia.
Well I had to open my big mouth my battery died this morning after 7 years which i suppose I can,t complian about as i did not use conditioners or anything to keep it going.
Mine started to show signs of failing last week so I got it tested and had to buy a new one. It was still starting the car but I didn't want to risk it collapsing at an inconvenient time and end up with a poor quality NMRA battery. It lasted 6 years and 4months.
