Default Mystery plug taped to steering column?

It is a small, white, two pronged female plug, the wires running to it are blue with black line and black with yellow line? No it's not the diagnostics plug, what would it be do you reckon.

As a guess I would say it may be related to the adjustable antenna memory system that is fitted to the higher end cars. It identifies the key inserted into the ignition and then sets the antenna to it's last recorded level.

Spot on. Only used in cars with climate control air con, not the standard set up.

Except that there are no climate control sensors located on the steering column or steering wheel on the climate control VY cars.

There is one on the top of the dash for sunlight and one in the dash. The third is outside in front of the radiator.

Just because it's taped to a certain location doesn't mean that's where the fitting is located. The wiring codes for the sensor are definitely as described by VYmad. It could be that the location is convenient for assembly during production.

Yeah, it seems to be just neatly taped up there on left side of steering column, visible with fuse panel removed.
