Cheers mate, will do
i bent a coat hangerworks great
yeh ive done the coathanger trick too lol
mate just wonder down to any local Holden dealer & borrow there tools for 1 min. ive done this a few times & had no hassles. & no they didn't charge me & yes you can drive with it removed from the vehicle.
I have a VY II S and I've tried removing both fuses for about 20 seconds and putting them back in the ones marked Radio/Cell Phone and also removing the battery leads for about 10 minutes and both failed, I still receive the CD Error message. I'm not sure exactly what's up with the CD player.. as we bought the car with the CD Error so I'm not sure if there is a CD stuck in it or just some other problem.
Once again VY II S and single disk blaupunkt cd stereo.
Any idea's????
Bit of a thread dig and off topic, but your best bet would be a trip to Holden to see if they can diagnose it. The Blaupunkt systems aren't overly robust from what I've been told, and the CD mechanisms fail quite often. You'd probably be up for either a costly repair, or replacement.
Bearing that in mind, I'd spend the money on an aftermarket unit with more features and capability.

The VZ is here! About time!
If your talking to me then yes I'm sorry.. but one question can my VY series 2 handle an aftermarket head unit without modifications.
For example: Go to my local car audio store and purchase a unit and have them put it straight in?
Yes but you will need to buy a kit which allows installation of a single din unit in a VY. They can be bought on ebay
SS VY VZ Monaro FULL KIT stereo fascia + wiring BLACK - eBay Accessories, Cables, Audio, Video, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 13-Aug-10 04:08:09 AEST)
The same guy also does ISO wiring harnesses which are plug and play (no soldering req'd) for a little extra $$
If you put an aftermarket unit in you will lose the steering wheel controls
Shouldn't my stereo be covered under my warranty anyway?
Possibly, some warranties exclude stereo equipment though
use a coat hanger do a google search for a how to
