Default VY 5.7 l one tonner starting problems.

My ute has an intermittent starting problem. starts normally from cold, then when hot sometimes wont start first go so I turn the key of and start again with no problems. Can anyone give me a clue to why? Is it the crank angle sensor?

Could be your key is buggered...
Does it wind over and not start or is there nothing at all till you turn it off and on again?

I had a similar problem with a VS and turn out the key was rooted.

You could run a diagnostic test on it to see if something comes up.

Is it turning over but wont fire? My cross 8 crewman dose this, its all ok when its cold but when its hot it wont fire. There is some black smoke out of the exhaust I noticed a couple of times when my wife started it when it has done this, that would indicate a bit of flooding. Will start firstly with the temperature sender then maybe crank angle sensor. Ill let you know how it goes.
