Hi, just picked up a nice VY acclaim wagon, the fuel gauge reads the wrong way round when i fill it up it says its completely empty and when its nearly out of fuel it is showing full...
Any ideas why this would be or how to fix it?
I did think about cutting the fuel sender wire and switching them around the other way but not sure if this would have any effect or if i could damage something..
Any advice would be gratefully received
Thanks
The series one and series two had different fuel senders so either someone has fitted a different cluster to the car or the fuel pump has been changed at some stage with the wrong one.
The only way i think that it can be fixed it to swap one of the above items to the other series.
It may have the wrong software calibration. When programming these with tech2 you have to make sure you have the right software for the sender unit (MRA).
Get your Holden dealer to program it with the right calibration before doing anything.
Thanks for the reply's, its a 2002 model so series 1???
Is it possible for the holden dealers to reprogram it with the tech 2?
or would a different set of clocks/fuel sender be the only answer?
No but its possible they have changed over a cluster with less k's on the clock!! nasty
Cheers,
Dave
