why not just paint them yourself if your desperate enough! took me half a day to do all 5 of my rims, just cleaned them, sanded them back with some 360 grit wet dry sand paper then gave it a coat of primer, gave it a light sand, 3 coats of black paint (120 degree heat proof) and then sanded off any runs and coated again, then gave it 2 coats of clear, turned up the money! A lot cheaper then taking them in and getting them professionally done. This is all under the assumption you like to do things yourself and don't have the cash to splash around. from memory it took me 2 pressure packs of black paint (cans), 1 pressure pack of primer and 1 pressure pack of clear, which together cost me about $60 and then 2 sheets of sand paper, which were $1.20 each from memory! Hope this helps you mate.

And just make sure you knock each coat back with some real fine paper and wipe before applying another coat IF you use a pressure pack. This should ensure a smooth surfaced finish. I PERSONALLY would save and get it done by a pro, just for peace of mind, as they should come out perfect, provided you go to a trusted painter who does good work.

i agree to get a perfect job i would go to a professional painter as well but i wasn't going to lay out real money to get some vt ss 17's painted haha! i don't know of any painted but i could expect the cost to be hefty in comparison to the d.i.y job. good luck getting those painted, they look fantastic in black!

If you get them done in powder coating black you need the black that has the uv protection in it. Or it will look like flat black in about 6 months.

powder coating is great if done very carefully. 2-PAC looks great even if done a bit dodgey.

If you want to get them powdercoated ring around and get some quotes you will be surprised how much of a price difference there is between places. I recently got my SS rims done for $80/wheel. One place quoted me $195/wheel!

One word of wisdom, make sure they dont P/C around where the wheel goes around the hub, otherwise they wont fit on! (I learnt the hard way...)

You saw a stock VZ Maloo. Those black wheels were an option on them new.

Never heard of this before? Mine were done years ago, and still look as good as the day they were done, guess the guy i used only used the uv protection stuff?

Ask around. It shouldn't be anymore than $50 a rim. Thats what mine cost, which included being acid bathed to get the old paint off.

Oh i didn't see the senator part.

The orange maloo's had the option of black wheels, but different design to the normal maloo wheels, i just figured it was those.
