Default vy series 2 exhaust v6

hey guys im looking at getting an exhaust for my vy ute, its a series 2 with twin cats.

every place i have called up think it should have 1 cat, when i tell them its got two, they say they will just cut it where it joins after the cats and weld on the sports exhaust.
i dont like the sound of this and would rather have one fitted from the flanges at the cats.

i cant find one on ebay or anything that will fit a series 2 they all look like single cat fitments.

just wondering what others have done on their series 2's?

also do a 2.5" twin system be to big? i have no future plans to do engine work.
or would 2 1/4" be better?

    cheers guys

2 1/4" Will be perfect for a stock v6. Regarding the series 2 crap, when I bought a catback exhaust that was meant for a series 1, the only difference was that the catback was approximately 2-3" shorter than it needed to be. Logically, there should be a similar difference with your ute and thus, can be fixed quite easily. Get them to modify the catback to suit, not your cat pipes. Hope this helps,

    -Nick.

The twin cats came out earl 2004 after the series 2 began. I have a series 2 with a built date of late October 2003 and it has one cat. The twin cats are there to comply with a revised exhaust emmission requirement so you would probably have to leave them there especially if there is a different ADR on your car requireing them as opposed to a sinlgle cat.
I don't understand why they can't make up new pipes and flanges to suit the twin cats or why there would not be a specific pre bent system from say Lukey. I'd give Lukey a call or look at their catalogue if it is up on the internet.

Iv got the series 2 with twin cat aswell. straight after the cat's theres a merger pipe, and it goes into single system, just like a single cat system. when fitting a cat back, u just need to shorten the pipe a few inchs. nothing major. i have pacemaker extractors, highflow cats and a lukey catback, and im still running stock merger. no issue's at all. very aggresive sound!!!

Twin systems are always going to be more benificial then a single.
Probably sound better to. (Although probably still sound like and epiliptic whale.)

I do the Manta system that fits all VT-VY V6, single and dual cat. It bolts to the back of the Y pipe on the VY 2.
