We have a VY exec sedan series 2. Its immaculate and goes great but every now and then just stops. No cough or miss, just dead. Car rolls to a stop then usually starts again straight away. Then it may not happen again for another weeks or 4!! Its had: crank angle sensor, DFM module, fuel pump, couple new relays, new battery and terminal ends, new ignition switch. And its still playing up. Any ideas??? Synon
mine did that and i replaced crank angle sensors and heaps of other stuff and it ended up being the wires for the fuel injection were falling out when the car goes over a bump or the motor shakes
I would be checking all the electrical connections in the engine bay to make sure they are tight and not damaged. One in particular could be the large plug on the DFI module under the coil packs. When you say the DFI module was replaced do you just mean the module or the whole coil pack? I was told recently that a neighbours VT would not start, it was towed to numerous auto elecs, dealerships and no one could find the problem. He ended up replacing the engine and it turned out to be a broken wire connecting the DFI to the coil packs. Also you could take the ECU and maybe the BCM out and check the PCB's for any dry joints or damage.
