Hi all,
I have a problem where my front power windows will not go down unless I hold down the button for like 5 to 10 seconds and hold it down for the auto down function or keep tapping it for them to go down but they go up straigh away the backs work fine they go up and down no problems. I have replaced the relay and have also replaced the center cluster and still no good any ideas or suggestions?
thanxs in advance Michael
hahha i have the same problem, i have to tap the down button like 30 times to open it fully, and to close it works fine,
vy ss series 2 ute.. hope you find a fix as it drives me mad!
Dunno if this is exactly the same problem that haunted me but my VT had intermittent problems with the electric windows, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, drove me friggin mad because when i switched the engine off and turned the key back to accessories the windows all worked perfectly. It turned out to be my BCM that was faulty (Body Control Module). I believe it controls internal electrics like central locking, power windows etc. While your issue is a little different from mine, your culprit might be the same. Of course, the module is expensive installed, about $400- $500, requires recoding to suit your ECU and new key stems.......all because the windows were playing up.
PS- you need to get the same one you Particular car needs, the BCM has a number on it and indicates whether its low, mid, high or lux, if you go second hand, you will need the details. The BCM i believe is tucked up behind the fuse box.
Thanxs VT_Cruiser fixed the problem it was actually one of the wires that plugs into the BMC that controls the power windows had come loose and caused the problem with the windows pushed the wire back in and the problem is now fixed
hey guys, can you tell me where this cable is located? hopefully its the same problem with my car!
thanks mate
