Custom VY Raadio Probs

Hey guys, i got an aftermarket Single DIN pioneer radio for my VY that i took out of my old car, but i am having some pretty annoying problems with it..

as far as i know i have wired up all the wires properly, as the radio works when the car is running..
So while its working i setup all the clock settings and whatnot with the radio, but when i turn the car off and open the door the radio turns off, (which its ment too).. but the problem is that the radio resets itself.. as if i was to unplug the battery.. so when i turn it back on again the clock is all outta wack.. so my question is does the 12 Volt constant power shut off when the doors are opened? .. or my other idea is that maybe i have wired it up wrong and the radio is running off the power from the ignition? .. can the ignition wire provide enough power to run the radio? .. or is it just a signal to the radio to let it use the 12 volt main?

from memory.. if u are looking the the plugs .. the top left ( orange from memory) is the battry, and the one below it is acc

Accesories - Yellow
Constant - Orange/White
Illumination - Brown/White
Earth - Black/White
12V OUTPUT - Yellow/Red
Radio Mute - Yellow/Black (VT onwards)
Antenna up - White (VR onwards)
Antenna down - Blue (VR onwards)
Illumination OUTPUT - Grey (VT onwards)

just swap the acc and power wires around. most iso harnesses are opposite to vy/z commodores for these 2 wires.

Instead of starting a new thread, I just wanted to know, I have a VYII Berlina that has the option of putting the aerial slightly down or up with the buttons on the stereo. If I install a custom stereo, will the aerial revert to Exec standard (ie. just simply go up and down when the radio is on?)

I don't know of any aftermarket H/Us that have the partial up and partial down buttons. Mine goes full up when I turn radio on, but stays down when on MP3, CD or Off.

If you like that feature then why don't you just get a LOC or get Phreddy to install some RCAs on it and you can keep the factory deck and look but still run amps (which I'm guessing is your goal).

nah dude, i dont know of any that do that.. unless you can get a custom one somewhere.
