Hi i got a vy series 2 commodore executive and wondering if i should fit 19" or 20" rims any downsides and is it legal my mate said something about 2 inches above the stock ones and also i want to the lower the back a couple of inches without actually making it look to low just enough so the car looks level any idea of what springs or size of springs.
also you guys seem to be great at advice really appreciating talking to you all.
id go 19's but if you find a good set of rims that look good go with them as for springs ssl in rear sl in front always been a good combo
Keep in mind your ride quality. 20's might look sick bro but the ride quality will rattle out your fillings. Personally I think 18's are bad enough. Strut towers may interfere with front clearance unless you go coil-overs or run 225 rubber. (Which will look shit!)
thx guys ill go sl and ssl on the springs (kingsprings?) and im gonna go 19 inch i think but what size tyres
I have 20s on mine with 245/35 rubber and did get a bit of rubbing but its quick and easy to get the gaurds rolled and then shes good as new! oh, im running king SSL front and rear.
Just wanting to say though, my 20s ride great. I barely noticed any diff after changing from the standard 18" SS rims, it feels the same over bumps and pot holes, you can feel less sidewall fles while cornering obviously, but it really is no worse over rough roads ect.
Not sure if this is the trend with all 20s or i was just lucky with the brand / style i chose. Im sure the 35 profile of the tyre helps as alot of people only run a 245/30 on 20" rims.
Just shop around and pick whatever you think looks best mate, some wheels look better as an 18 or 19, others still look small as a 20!
yeh i second on what Bravotwozero says about shaking you up,, if you drive out on dirt roads anything above 18 is terrible.. i have 18's on mine and live out on a dirt road and everytime i drive on it i wish i hadn't got them lol .. and yeh i would go with kingsprings myself, thats what i have in mine and loving them,, also im sure you already know this but dont forget the bigger the tyre you get the most its gonna cost to get a new one!!!
