Door Damage

Hi, today i parked my car and as i opened the door was hit by a nissan patrol. few questions in regards... the door still opens and closes but along the edge it has rolled over a bit and lost paint (plus looks bad) and further up in the door about 6 inches short of the join to quarter panel the metal has kinked. it appears the door might be pushed forward a little too as it doesnt open fully, though does open enough...

anybody reckon this is a job for the panel beaters? or if im up for a new door? ill try get pics but i just moved dont have a camera, am located in mt isa if anyone knows a good spot to take it... cheers in advance

Sounds like your up for a new door! Is the door trim damaged to?

no the trimming is fine, entire interior is untouched

Yeah sounds like the entire door will need replacing! Since another car hit your car shouldn't it be covered by insurance? If not Google is your friend to find a pannel beater. Good Luck

Isn't it sort of a rule of thumb with cCommodores and other common makes that it is cheaper to replace and paint than to panel beat and paint?
You could get a panel beater to rub back, fit and paint a used door or source a new door. Ask around at a few panel beaters because I'd say that this would be the general concensus.
