Can anyone tell me if the oil is shared or seperate. The 6 speed manual gearbox in my VY2 SS Crewman is getting noisey and gear change is very stiff, it has jumped out of third a few times but that may be a seperate issue. On idle it sounds like a bearing niose similar to a thrust bearing, it goes away when I engage the clutch. I had a new clutch and thrust bearing fitted 6 months ago under warranty alegedly.
Fancy meeting you here
They are on seperate oil circuits. Is the clutch fluid at an adequate height in the res? Might want to check fro signs of leaks from the slave

Your engine oil and g/box oil are seperate. Engine takes 15W30 oil and g/box takes DextronIII trans fluid according to owners manual. Have a look under the car where the bellhousing bolts to the back of the engine and see if there is any fluid leaking. The jumping out of gear will be a seperate problem from the noisy thrust bearing. Try changing your g/box oil and see how it goes.
