    Default VYII Cluster Change

    Hey guys,

I just recently changed my old boring exec cluster to a Calais, everything is working and it looks sooooo much better, but the fuel gauge is working in the opposite direction and a SRS Airbag Fault is coming up.

I changed back to my old cluster and the SRS Fault does not come up.

    Anyway of fixing my problems?

    Cheers, Tappy.

Pretty sure to run the Tripple display you need a Level 3 Body control module and you may only have a level 2 hence why you are getting the fault.
Get your VIN number and ring holdens and they will be able to tell you what BCM you have.

the fuel gadge working in reverse means you bought the wrong gauge search it on this forum heaps of threads about it also your distance to empty will go up instead of down i remember seeing there is a way to fix it but it would have been cheaper to buy a brand new cluster from holdens and have them fit it than buy the wrong cluster and have the new fuel sender changed which is about $400 as for the srs fault not to sure probably just needs a tec2

    Default Wrong Series Cluster

    Hi,

Fuel gauge means you have a series 1 cluster in a VY II, or vice versa. Solution is to get a VY II clsuter, or change the fuel sender unit to a series 1 item. As previously stated, cost is about $400 as the fuel tank needs to be taken out. It would probably be cheaper to get a correct cluster.

There have been claims that the cluster can be calibrated to correct this, but even though I have tried, I have not been able to confirm this.

SRS fault is because Calais cluster has default for Calias air bags. An Exec does not have the same air bag complement. Solution is a Tech2, not a BCM change.

I did this change to my VY II, and luckily sorted out the detail before I went ahead with the project.

    Good luck.

Probably better if u just get the right SII cluster, much easier than changing the fuel sender unit!

    Hi Tappy,

I have had the same problem, however I have a VY I exec and got a Calais cluster. The cluster ended up being a VY II cluster and therefore was reading the fuel gauge backwards. Everyone that I spoke too from people on forums to about several holden dealers all said it's easier to buy the right cluster. This was until a dude from holden mentioned that the cluster could of came from a Calais Supercharge. The guy stated that Calais Supercharge cars for some reason reads the fuel the opposite way.

So the moral of the story was that he programmed it as a supercharge car and this fixed the problem. No more SRS and fuel gauge works fine. Best of all it took the Holden 3 mins to do.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers

you need to have a tech2 to reset the fuel calabrations and it will work fine. with the srs light its because the cluster is tryin to regester all the calais airbags and your missing those so a tech2 can also fix that. take it to holden and it will take 5min to fix
