VY Odometer Problem

Sorry for the crappy first post, but we have just purchased a VY Ute for not a bad price but we will have to do the roadworthy ourselves. It needs some tyres but the biggest problem is the LCD display in the dash where the odometer is dosen't work. I can't get anything to show up on the LCD at all. The alarm still sounds when fuel is low etc and the rest of the dash works fine.

I am handy with tools and electronics does anyone know where to start or is a dash replacement in order?

OK nobody? How can I tell if the ute is a series one or two? The build date is March 2003 if thats any help. I might source another dash if no one has any options.

A 2003 should be a series one and i would just go a seccond hand cluster as you can pick them up for around $120 mark.

Just get a cluster that matches your car's specs or you will need to get it re programmed.
